Great Yellow Bumble Bee

Up at 4.30 am this morning heading for the Tiree ferry.
Mission was to film the rare Great Yellow Bumble Bee which I have never even seen before.

Myself, Jenny my colleague and Robbie the videographer met up with a local expert in rain and high winds. No chance of seeing the bee today he said.  We filmed some machair and some footage and looked at where the bees should have been if it were sunny and lo and behold one appeared. In fact we filmed several in very poor weather conditions.

Now in my BnB listening to the rain beat and the wind howl outside. I post here a photo of the GYBB, not perfect shot but the best I managed today in these conditions. Extra of my film/support crew.
