Escallonia

Today we tried to dispose of the stuff that we had sorted and hoped to get rid of.  The recycle centre was open but unfortunately our favourite charity shop once again wasn't.  We suspect that they are having staffing difficulties during the Summer holidays.  We decided that we'd try  leaving one rather old set of drawers (originally designed to hold paper dental records) in the drive and a notice ' please take' on it and within an hour or so someone had taken it!  We'll try the same with a few other items.
Completely nothing to do with this are the flowers on our escallonia.  They are small and don't look especially distinctive to the naked eye but I do like them when photographed up close.  I did, of course take the daily pic of Violet's sunflower.  She'll be with us tomorrow and can pose with it.  The shots I took in her absence will go into a collage to chart the flower's progress.
