Hollywood Moment

Yeovil’s first home game of the season this afternoon was against Wrexham, the club famously owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny.

Having spent a lot of money attracting players from much higher leagues since they bought the club last year, they are hot favourites to win promotion this season, having narrowly missed out last season.

When they took the lead after 7 minutes, it looked as though their pace and movement was going to be too much for us but we showed great character and resilience and played some good football ourselves. By the second half we looked the more dangerous team, equalising with a wonderful shot from outside the penalty area which dipped over the keeper and into the top corner.

The blip shows the scorer, Malachi Linton, getting a Hollywood hug from teammates. Despite appearances, (the stand in the background gets the full sun and wasn’t too popular today!) there were nearly 3000 fans at the game and the Yeovil contingent were certainly heartened by the performance.

We decided to give the Park Run a miss this morning, given the heat, so had a swim instead.
