Sketching

The woods were so cool we managed a 2 hour walk staying in the shade until 9.30am when it was over 26 degrees and I had to get the pup home.

Later Emma appeared with her children Flo and Rosa. They moved to Beirut just before the blast at the port which destroyed their flat. Then Covid. Then a huge power and financial crisis. Then Ukraine at war from where Lebanon imports 90% of its wheat. It’s been a tricky few years. But today was gently and lovely: pond-dipping with Rosa and Flo getting out the boy’s old Playmobil. Emma and I had a chance to catch up after more than a year which was lovely.

By the time they left we were at 34 degrees and hot hot hot so I sat in the coolest room and did some sketching, I hope we have a big storm to cool everything down.
