Cirencester

Day off

Had to go to Cirencester to do a few jobs including sorting some finances at the bank as the branch in my local town has now been closed down. The service was pretty abysmal at the bank as the girl behind the counter seemed to be more interested in sending messages to her friends on her phone. Looked like lots of hearts were involved so maybe she was distracted by a love interest.

When I asked for a receipt for the deposit I’d made she told me she hadn’t asked for one and then I was met with, “haven’t you got the app?” No I haven’t and I don’t really want it. Starting to feel rather old! I’m definitely changing banks.

Dropped off some books at a local charity that specialises in books. As I arrived I saw a notice saying they were currently being overwhelmed with donations and I needed to call in advance and make an appointment. I knocked on the hatch and a little old man appeared and said that he was happy to take the books without the telephone appointment. Hooray! He pulled the bag through the little serving hatch and in the background all I could see was floor to ceiling books, they must have thousands and thousands in there, mostly stacked in big piles. It looked somewhat disorganised, probably because they’re taking unsolicited donations like mine!

Bought a second hand top from a charity shop which is a nice light white cotton vest/T shirt. I think it may become my holiday wear of choice.
