Fairground

A cooler cloudy start to the day and l managed a quick sprint cycle class before we all headed off to Sidmouth. We hadn’t realised it was the day of the air show and were surprised at the car parks being full. We managed to park in the back streets though. A wander through a very quiet park where we had lunch and then we spotted a fairground just opening up on The Ham.

Our grandson has had a good day and was happily playing in the park area and then again on the beach. The tide was slowly coming in and the number of people arriving increasing. It was time to go and have an ice cream. It was then that we saw the posters advertising the air slow. People were lining the street and beaches and as we walked back to the car many more were arriving.

We spotted some of the aircraft in the sky once we were home later in the evening but it stopped early. I believe it was cancelled early.

A good day out and great that our grandson enjoyed himself all day. He is still teething and we think it wasn’t troubling him so much.
