DOORS IN OSLO # 50

I can't believe that I managed to find 50 doors in Oslo that I like :-)

This door (and building) is from 1895. The line of buildings in this short street was all designed by the Danish born architect Camillus (Carl) Konopka. The style is neo-Renaissance and if you look closely it is also paintings in the staircase. The apartments have high ceiling and stuccoes.

When the first people moved in they where 51 persons staying in 13 apartments.
They worked as port officer, greengrocer, sausage maker, plumber and some had work that we don't have any more like gloves presser at the factory, knitters and so on.

Konopka designed about 150 buildings in our city.
