Lyme Bay

After a hearty bacon and egg breakfast, I took Tom to see my mum, it's very hard for him knowing that he won't be over to England again for quite a while once he leaves in a week or two.
Pam took some photos of the famous cliffs at West Bay and we met up for an ice cream.

Tom's train wasn't until 4 this afternoon so we travelled further on to Charmouth a seaside I spent many a happy day as a child here.
The Blue huts brought back memories (although not the ones that were there back then) but in the same place we had the same hut for years.
The beach didn't have so many stones on it then, when the tide goes out it is sandy and quite shallow, not like the Chesil beach which has a deep shingle shelf and a strong undertow.
This is known as The Jurassic Coast and the fossil (Ammonite) is one of many found in the crumbling cliffs here. The hill on the coast is Golden Cap, it has more vegetation on it now but it used to glow golden in the sun.

Tom had never been to Lyme Regis so we drove on and had a nice fish lunch there.
The tide was out now and the boats were sitting in the mud. Tom walked along the Cobb wall.
I was attracted to the colourful nets and the polished gemstone pebbles that are found on the beach.
