Update

Sooooo.....it took me longer to get back than I had anticipated.

Morning was spent in the kitchen cooking a roast vegetable lasagne, including my own marinara sauce. Perhaps wearing white wasn't the best idea.

Quick play with some milk got me my blip for the day, just before we had a visit from Jenny, a Neuro Psychologist, who is working with us to try and figure out the psychology behind some of Alan's behaviors, that may or may not be related to his cerebral palsy.

And what a fascinating day we had (she eventually left at at 8pm) At this stage she is information gathering and was asking us questions right back to Alan's earliest days. It was all a bit of an emotional rollercoaster as we recalled the dark days after his birth and the first months of his life that we spent in a fog of confusion, fear and exhaustion.

We also talked of the happy times of his early childhood of course, of which there are so many, but it's the dark times that seem to embed themselves in your soul and took us aback slightly at how keenly those emotions are felt when such times are re-visited.

All in all a great meeting though and even though this was an inital chat, there were a couple of lightbulb moments where we realised that Alan reacts certain ways to situation because of what we do/say or don't do/say. Truly fascinating stuff.

A late dinner followed by an early night, as I was exhausted, meant no chance to update today's write up till now.
