lunch

After a visit to the optician and an eye watering bill for the new specs (they are VERY cool though!), wandered down our tiny main street and popped in to Kishi, an izakaya and sushi bar.
Have been meaning to have lunch here for ages and what a treat!
If size does matter then small is just perfect. This teenie weenie, dare I say, hole in the wall, seats 10 and it is standing room only, waiting for a vacant chair or take away.
On Saturday evenings they serve a set meal, a sort of Japanese tapas apparently, so look out Brodie B, Kishi here we come!

Oh, and this is beef teriyake, and while waiting for this very pretty and delicious bowlful to arrive, a snack of slim sliced, deep fried lotus root was served with chilled green tea.
The owners of this gorgeous gem also have a Japanese style b and b in the village. Now on the 'must do' list, even though it is just down the road.

Heavens, Kala will not know itself! though one of the patrons reckons it should stay a well kept secret.
