Spine

More tidying up at the allotment today. That meant trimming leaves from the courgette spines but the Extra shows there are plenty more left. The courgettes and cucumbers have had a new lease of life, fruits swelling and new buds blooming, so hopefully we won’t get an early cold spell to spoil things. Some spinach and chard seeds have taken as well but I think their biggest problem won’t be the weather but the wildlife! Talking of which, I uncovered a colony of snails in one of the strawberry patches which goes a long way to explaining the sudden disappearance of the summer’s berry crop. Like those berries, the colony is no more.
Just a word about tonight’s football and the word is fanbloodytastic! Scotland win their group, get promoted and make things just a bit easier for their next couple of tournaments. Another wee word, fandabidoubledozi!
