We dusted off the family bikes today for a visit to a newly opened bicycle shop at Canonmills. My wife and daughter's bikes seemed to have survived the winter hibernation, our not-so-little boy amazingly could still be transported in his child seat on my rear pannier, and it was cycle-paths all the way so we had a reasonable expectation to for an uneventful day.

However, soon after we joined the cyclepath we saw a lady lying on the ground. She insisted that she was fine and didn't need any help, but was also unable to get back onto her feet. My wife and I decided that it wasn't a good idea to leave here there, and would also set a dubious moral example to our impressionable children. So we stayed with her until her husband and the paramedics crew from the ambulance arrived. Lots of other passerbys asked if they could help, so we really just did what anyone else would have done.

This portrait was taken at a coffee shop were we stopped for lunch. I think the fruity face art worn by her and her colleagues was to plug a new range of (presumably) fruit-based refreshments in their cafe.
