Submerged Vagrant

This vagrant spider was calmly sitting in the bottom of the hedgehog's water bowl, some 5cm under. He was obviously alive so in the interests of science and Blip I went for my camera and took photos of him before fishing him out. Fortunately he did not require mouth to mouth resuscitation. Once on shore the lawn he dried himself in the wind and then took off.

Because he was under water I could not get the focus sharp, but I like the surreal appearance the water has given him.

Vagrant spider, Uliodon sp., male. New Zealand native. Body length 15mm.
