Social Sunday

I’m not quite so far behind now, just a few more blip followers to check in on.

It was sunny all day again and the temperature reached 21/22degC according to the gauge in the car. We had breakfast, pottered, went out for a walk, bumped into some friends, returned home hot and sweaty. I showered, Mr MacD got into the garden for an hour, I managed to sit down for half an hour and check in on a good number of my blip friends, which was very satisfying.

We had a quick lunch, then picked Mum up and took her with us while we picked up the weekend’s open home signs.  On the way home we bought her a Trumpet (Cornetto) and parked by the water so she had a nice view while she ate it.

Back home we changed and caught the bus into the city where we met friends for an early dinner at Monsoon Poon (Auckland's original South East Asian Trading House Restaurant). After we’d finished our meal we walked to their nearby apartment and spent a pleasant hour chatting and drinking tea before heading home, where we arrived just before 11pm.

The main blip is of the interior of Monsoon Poon. In the extra the couple at top left were sitting glued to their phones, oblivious to everything. The owl was in a garden we walked past, and the pigeon was sitting on top of the fountain at Mum’s retirement village. Unfortunately I wasn’t quick enough to catch him actually drinking from the bubbling water.
