for two hundred years Paisley boys have taken the plunge into the "Laigh Linn" on hot summer days though the deep turbulent waters below the ledges are dangerous for the unwary....known today as the Hammills these weirs powered the mills on either side of the White Cart Water as did others further up the river in the town once world famous for its thread and textile products
