Feeding cats

Long lie, great. Faffed about for a bit including deciding the new rug is ok. Chopped back the lavender at the front and then it rained. It is still very warm though. Well into double figures and the flowers still in bloom look better than they did in the dry summer.

After buying birthday presents for H I finally did a job that's been needing done for at least 3 years and tidied/cleared out my wardrobe. Not as ruthless as I could have been, but a start.

Then to Sainsbury's and home via Alfie who seemed to enjoy his dinner. He's one of 4 cats in feeding this weekend.

Watched programme about the BBC and noted it was 60 years yesterday that the Cuban missile crisis was stood down. I remember it well. We really thought there was going to be war. The strange thing, looking back is that in October 1962 my dad had been out of the army for fewer than 17 years. Today's equivalent is 2005, which seems like yesterday.

Cooked, ate, drank, watched TV and put the clocks back.
