Skeptical Wonder

On This Day In History
1934: Carl Sagan is born

Quote Of The Day
"Every one of us, in the cosmic perspective, is precious. If a human disagrees with you, let him live. In a hundred billion galaxies, you will not find another."
(Carl Sagan)

This is the same copy of Cosmos that I purchased in 1981. I saved my pocket money to spend on holiday in Spain, but spent hardly any of it because I wanted to buy this book since I was such a fan of the T.V. series. Cosmos is still my Bible, and Carl Sagan my guru. I'm looking forward to the day that my children will watch my DVD collection of the entire series.

I wonder, did Carl Sagan take a cue from Dr. McCoy for today's quote?

"Don't destroy the one named Kirk."
