Spring trees

Unlike the day on the Roaches last week we heard no cuckoos but a distant buzzard was calling and the trees were alive with the sound of bird song while blue tits were chattering as they flitted from branch to branch searching for insects.
I had intended to photograph these trees on Sunday but they were swaying too much in the wind so instead took photos of the nearby cowslips. It's amazing how much the leaves have come out in the last two days. Apart from the pine tree here, visible and almost in full leaf are the sycamore and larch while the beech, silver birch and ash are starting to acquire their green. The nearby horse chestnut and wild cherry trees are bursting into bloom and the woodlands are starting to get their carpets of bluebells and wild garlic. Spring has really come, in fact today we had a taste of summer.
