hope,nope....Dope

New Brighton,a seaside suburb of ChCh was hit hard by the quakes.It's been on a bit of a slide since the early seventies when 7 day trading came to be.It was the only place you could go to shop on the weekend.Times have changed,oh yeah.
With the help of street artist"Popps" who I took a pic of last year.He's sarted a project to help unemployed kids and artists to brighten up the place.There is a heap of great street art on walls all over the place.This piece is in an empty section called the creative corner.
An article in todays Press,I can tell you it's done by a student named Rebecca Gibbs.Styled on a print in America of President Obama called "Hope".
This one is called "Democracy -Nope".
I've mentioned the rt hon Gerry Brownlee a couple of times since the earthquakes.Next to the prime minister,he's the next big thing.
If you think OZ was the great and powerful,think again.
This woodworking teacher in his previous life holds all the power now in our quake ravaged city.He's traded in his ruler and now wields an axe.
Rebecca's work is aptly called,"Democracy -Nope".There is none.
