Hummingbird

My son has been making wire and gem sculptures, sometimes incorporating pieces of wood from trees he has trimmed. All the materials he chooses have particular properties or significance. Here's what he has to say about this one:

"Made from copper wire, the bird is connected to the flower, and their life force is conducted through the 50- year-old chip of plum wood, grounding them as energy flows freely between the two. The flower has a carnelian carpel for boosting confidence, creativity and expression. Also called sunset stone, it is responsible for cleansing and re-invigorating strength, with a promise of something new. The six petals represent completeness and wholeness of heart. Comprised of smokey lemurian seed, they are fragile quartz which are seen as seeds of divine knowledge. The horizontal line fragments are referred to as "memories" and hold spiritual connectivity to our higher selves. They hold the memory of our true place in the Cosmos."
