The Enemy

Well one of the many enemies and they seem to be very numerous this year. Also these big guys seem to be replacing the big slugs. Wonder if it is just coincidence or something I have changed about the garden. A lot more organic matter in the soil since I took it on. Anyone know what influences the slug/snail balance? Or do they all do well or badly together?

This one seems to have been hibernating with a friend given by the marks on the shell and it is currently marching over the asparagus bed. Well currently it is being digested by a hen as I threw them into the run after the photo shoot.
