An ordinary life....

LJ & Derek...

We finally managed to meet friends LJ & Derek for lunch today after a few failed attempts, most recently because Derek had covid.  At 94 it was a worrying time but he brushed it off with his usual bravado and good humour and thankfully has made a good recovery.

We last saw them in June 2021 so we were well overdue a catch up.  We had a lovely lunch at the River House in Stirling, which is looking very festive with all the Christmas decs.  The Riverhouse is a large restaurant and we were pleased to see it was full.  Not bad for a Wednesday in November.  I hope that continues.  With so many restaurants and cafes going under, it's good to see one thriving.

We had a lovely lunch and a great time catching up.  Good to hear that they are both getting out and about every day and their social life is as busy as ever.  There was lots of laughter as ever when we are in their company.  Two of the loveliest and most interesting people we know.

Got home at 4pm and started the online Tesco order that's going to be delivered to the holiday house in Northumberland where we will be spending 7 days from Saturday, with our friends Agnes and Adrian.  I am really looking forward to it.

Alan's really looking forward to getting rid of us as D is getting all the Christmas decs for his rooms out of the loft so they can go up while we're away :-))
