Holme Fen

This was taken at 9am this morning at Holme Fen near Peterborough. It was cold, damp and misty and completely perfect for such a restorative walk. Even though the dominant colour was brown there were so many shades and tones to absorb that it was very far from dull.
Holme Fen is the site of the largest silver birch forest in lowland England, there's a huge lake too, which was populated by masses of very rowdy waterfowl. It sounded like a very busy playground!
I took several photos but I'm out of energy and time tonight so I'll add some more tomorrow.

Hope you've all had a good start to the week and are keeping warm.
