Thoroughly enyoyable

We weren't at all sure when we saw the description of Spirited on one of the streaming channels. A new take on A Christmas Carol din't seem like such a good idea, really, and the mention of 'huge musical numbers' was a bit of a turn-off, but teaming up Ryan Reynolds with Will Ferrell definitely sounded like an inspired partnership, so we took a chance.

We were delighted we did. What a wonderful feel-good experience! A joy from beginning to end. The Americans really do know how to put on a musical, and this is a brilliant example. Really clever lyrics, catchy tunes, tremendously energetic dancing — Spirited has it all. In Spades.

We might just watch it again on Christmas Day.
