Fantastic castle

Drove to Ardnamurchan, beautiful journey, but very wet.
The site is an amazing place, a massive, almost intact, late 13th century castle... just a big stone box, no windows. This place was built only for defence, no mucking about with fancy architectural niceties (actually, the wee turrets on the corners are probably 16th C additions. It has a moat on the landward side, quarried from the living rock, with a drawbridge. The door that Kenny is defending has a 2 m vertical drop just in front of it, so you just needed to pull up the ladder and you were impregnable. Fantastic!
