Giant earthworm

Whenever it rains, the pavements are usually covered with crawling earthworms. I do not know why they don´t stay in the earth, it is as if they want to commit suicide, since it is very difficult to avoid stepping on them while walking. This morning I saw the biggest one yet, my mitten looks small next to it!
