Dog walking

There’s a certain combination of frost, low lying mist, and a midwinter sunrise that creates spectacular light. As soon as I got up I could tell it was one of those mornings and knew from January’s dog/photo walk in similar conditions just where to go - along the path known locally as the Electric Mile for its power cables, just as it intersects the more ancient route known as the Devil’s Backbone. I managed to persuade Pat and Stanley the lurcher to pose for me as we were bathed in the glorious sunrise.

I didn’t want to go home, nor did the other dog walkers, runner and cyclists who stopped to enjoy the glorious spectacle.

This was snapped on an iPhone 13 and is unedited.
