Aizuri Quartet

...attended tonight at the Library of Congress. We - William, Isabelle and I - took the metro into town, which did take an age but was our first outing starting at the new Loudoun County station, and somewhat sneakily slipped upstairs into the great hall while waiting for the concert to start. (We weren't, however, the only ones.) The Christmas tree with the backdrop of all the arches and mosaics is a favorite scene.

The concert was a string quartet. The musicians were young and wonderfully talented and edgy, and they played everything from Schumann and Debussy to their own twisty takes on American bluegrass.

It was past midnight when we finally got home. Read through an essay for D. and it's way past time to hit the hay!
