Yosemite Falls

A damp afternoon, extremely low clouds. Only half of the Falls is visible here from across the rushing Merced River, though you can hear the full roar of the water over the valley. The rain comes in and out to play with the tourists. We are happy to be here, engulfed in mountain air. We figure we've been to Yosemite together at least fifty times over the years, and in all seasons (except summer, when it is just too hot). Someday I want to find all my Yosemite photos and make myself a book. Or maybe just line up all the times I've taken the exact same photo--they will all be different. There is always something new to see, some new awareness we bring that directs our attention to a fresh perspective.
