Scrawny Old Man

House in the country

This is Geldie Lodge - passing it for the second time after we had left home at 0650, driven to Linn of Dee, ridden our bikes 12.5km (according to Dave) up a track, crossed 2 very cold rivers (getting out of that water without a volley of expletives was one of the hardest things I've ever done), and walked 15km with 770m of ascent (according to Dave) over 2 Munros. All we had left to do was cross those rivers again, cycle back, get something to eat and get home 15 hours after we left.
A very satisfying day, if a little tiring.
The Munros were An Sgarsoch and Carn an Fhidhleir, the only 2 within reasonable driving distance of home that we hadn't been up before - when you see what it takes to get to them, you can see why. They also have a reputation for being dull lumps but actually made good walking. And the day was bright with some sun and some showers, a lot better than we were expecting.
You get the remote loneliness of this place well if you view in large (thanks to Sefferdog for this suggeestion).
