Sláva Ukrayíni!

I was moved to tears by the impassioned speech last night by President Zelenskyy before a joint session of congress.  He spoke eloquently and forcefully, and in English, and his gratitude for the people of the United State's support could not have been stronger.  The US has provided, under President Biden, more military, financial and humanitarian aid to Ukraine than any other country in the world and I am so proud.  But when he referenced the Christmas, 1944 Battle of the Bulge where US soldiers fought back the Nazi's, I lost it.  I have the postcard my dad sent home that Christmas as he took part in that historic battle.  The rest of the free world must join with the US and make sure 2023 is a year of victory for the brave heroes of Ukraine. It didn't take a stretch of the imagination to compare his speech to the one Winston Churchill made at a joint session of congress in December of 1941.  Speaker of the House Pelosi's father was in the congress that night and she was there last night.  Sláva Ukrayíni indeed.
