Basil after the Vet

Basil's annual vaccinations and health checks this morning. Len in a right panic to get there for 11 am. I told him they're never on time. Sure enough, we went into the surgery at 11.30 am.

He took his vax's like a regular trooper. Then the vet told us she'd detected a heart murmur. We can hardly believe it he still looks sparkly eyed and does his zoomies. She said it was grade 3/6. Options were to get him scanned by a cardiologist, put him on medication, wait a while for another check.

We know nothing about heart murmurs in dogs but I googled it afterwards and discovered that it's common. He has no obvious symptoms. We wondered if it was a ploy to get us to fork out for the cardiologist. We're going to wait a couple of months and have him checked again. It seems that dogs can live with heart murmurs for years

We went to Finkins for a sandwich and coffee. Basil had a sausage which he woofed down.
