Divinity in Skin

Last reading from Darkling:

The Word became flesh, and lived among us. - John 1v14

The word as flesh. Divinity manifest in skin, blood, and bone. Heaven; here. Not as a one off, but as a reminder of an ultimate, eternal truth: flesh is good. Skin. Soil. Sunlight. Snow. Rock. Sweat. Bark. Petal. Grass. The world is good. It is good to be here...

To be spiritual is to eat and drink. It is to touch and to taste. It is to sing and to dance. It is to make things with our hands. To get dirt beneath our nails. It is to hug and kiss and play and walk and run and swim and hold hands and climb trees and laugh and cry - whatever it is that rings the sweet bell of your body.

It is to be here, now...

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. - John 1v5

Gratefuls:
- church, both here and in Sutton, being full and good; Leonor sitting next to us
- getting out for a walk under dramatic skies, shooting out rays of light and rainbows all around us, but only tipping it down after we were driving home, and then easing off when I had to get out to open our gate, and seeing cranes over and over, but always flying away
- Gaynor and Andy´s wonderful hospitality to all our kids and grandkids
