Sugar syrup!

Made with Demerara sugar hence the colour.  I wanted to use up a lot of cream! 
The recipe is: Brandy Mousse Ice-cream by Josceline Dimbleby. It’s been years since I’ve used it.  But it’s so good! 

Early this morning we had a text to say the Americans had changed plans and were cancelling a trip to Porto and going straight home, could they stay with us for the night.  Our granddaughter has been suffering from sciatica and been in an awful lot of pain.  It’s been such a good day with them.  Had a walk in the rain with our Sil. Did cooking with our daughter.  And we were all at table together for. A Turkey au Gratin with Almonds out of the same cook book. Now for some sleep as they leave at 3:20am.  So need to say goodbye and we have the girls for the day + visit to the Octagon with them tomorrow!
