Pot holes

The very heavy rainfall of the last 2 years has caused massive road damage. Local road authorities are struggling to make repairs. We didn’t take this ominous-sounding road today, though we have many times in the past. It’s the main access road to the small Northern Rivers town of Bonalbo.

Today we stayed on the main road to Tenterfield, on the crest of the Great Dividing Range. Each summer we try to escape the coastal heat and humidity for a few days. We’re now staying for 3 nights in a cabin at Glen Aplin, at an elevation of 1000 metres above sea level. And enjoying coolish conditions in the southern Queensland Granite Belt.
