Is Tayside House to be nibbled down?

The removal of the much hated 16 story Tayside house (ex Dundee council HQ) is a key stage in the huge re-development of Dundee's riverside.

Problem was it was too close to the main road and above the main Aberdeen-Dundee rail line, so a straight demolition wasn't an option.

Instead we've seen the building slowly reduced by 6 floors over the last few months by top-down internal demolition. Now the scaffolding's been removed, a rather elaborate 3-4 floor high pile of rubble has been created as a platform for a High Reach Demolition Machine.

It seems like the remaining 10 story shell is going to be slowly nibbled down on full view of much of Dundee.

Like a long drawn-out, public humiliation for it's role in "making Dundee so ugly"...
