A time for everything

Wednesday 28 December
The temperatures were warmer today - we actually got above freezing! Jason was persuaded to come with us today, and we drove up to Clifton Gorge, which is always spectacular when it’s icy. When we arrived in the area, Roger said shall we have lunch first of after, and I foolishly said let’s hike first, and as you can see from my collage we had a great hike, and someone was kind enough to take a picture of all of us. However, when we got back, and checked out nearby Clifton Mill Inn on our phones, we discovered they had just closed, and didn’t open again until 5 pm when their amazing light show starts. As Laura so helpfully pointed out, we should have done that first! It was a bit late for lunch by now, so we just drove home and had more Christmas cake and mince pies! Since we hadn’t had lunch out in the end, we went out for dinner to our favourite Middle Eastern restaurant Phoenician Taverna and afterwards we played a rather complicated board game Laura had bought us last year.
