Racing Pigeon

A nice sunny start to the day, but a bit of a lazy start for me and by the time we got out the forecasted damper and windier weather had arrived. We ended up at Stoer Lighthouse looking straight out into the wind and rain. We could make out Gannets, Shags & Fulmars and were quite impressed by the speed this Racing Pigeon got up to in the following wind as it appeared to head directly towards the car, but was aiming for the crumbs that had been left below the picnic table - we subsequently found out that the lady who runs "living the dream" the refreshments kiosk there had captured and fed the bird when she found it exhausted, seemingly it had been blown off course from Ireland. Once recovered he was released, but seems to have decided he likes it here.

Check out RCB for a Pink-footed Goose, a rather surprising discovery in the field behind our chalet.
