A real Kiwi beach picnic

Early this afternoon we drove over the back roads to Marahau for a picnic lunch and swim. There have been “King Tides” over the last few days. The amount of debris at the feet of this little group shows the high water mark. This beach area at Marahau is quite special as it is devoid of crowds. The wind was brisk and the sea was warm…..once we got in. The three bodies here shall remain nameless in the interests of their privacy. However the person in the middle had arrived from the UK last weekend to spend summer weather with family.
