The illuminated keys on my laptop are pretty, but also quite useful.

Unfortunately my laptop is a bit sick at the moment.  A couple of nights ago it would not shut down normally, so I had to force it to shut down.  Tonight I tried starting it for the first time since then and it would not boot up.  I am now running a system restore and, provided that is successful, I will have to reinstall all my software.  An annoying use of my time.
