Memories: Owl Pellets

Back in another life I taught Middle School 'Life Science'. Whenever I found 'Owl Pellets' I would save them up and make a lesson out of the treasures. My students would carefully dissect the small 'packages' to uncover the remains within. When an owl eats it digests the soft matter but the fur and bones are regurgitated back out through it's mouth. We would find all sorts of small bones/nails and beaks. Sometimes even a small intact skull would emerge! What fun! I have no doubt that was one lesson they probably never forgot! I found no 'skulls' in this pellet, but it did bring back some wonderful memories!
