Shrugging

Blue skies and a bit of heat from the sun.  It didn't start out that way.  It was minus three first thing this morning and the central heating decided to go on strike.  It did the same thing for a while yesterday, stubbornly refusing to work and then mysteriously starting up all on its own long after I had given up fiddling with the settings.  Same today.  Down in the cellar first thing trying to reset things in the freezing cold. No go. Back upstairs to reset the timers, reset the wireless connection between the room sensor and the boiler.  No go. All looked as it should on the various screens, but still "en panne".  After you have tried all the logical fixes you begin to wonder if the divine is intervening.  Ireland beat France yesterday in the hardest fought rugby match that I have ever seen.  Is the Gallic chaudiere in a huff?  All logic is defied and I give up.  Two minutes later it decides to go.  What can you do but shrug.  We barbecued peppers and sausages and sat in the warm afternoon sun.  Comme l'été.
