Light and Depth of Field

To due to other commitments I just had a brief walk, so I decided on a plan before I left home.  My challenge was to play with light and a shallow depth of field and perhaps showing texture.  So this is what I came up with.  Exploiting light is what photography is all about.  This image and the extra image were taken within five minutes from home.
