Friday Night is Film Club Night

And I chose The Great Gatsby. It got mixed reviews.

We loved the dresses, thought Fitzgerald's Daisy was shallower than Luhrmanns, and were mixed as to how sympathetic a character Gatsby actually is.... the older ones struggled to remember reading a book read decades earlier, whilst the 17 year old in our midst was inspired to borrow a copy and read the original for the first time.

7/10 for the Great Gatsby.

4/10 for Browns restaurant where we had our post-film dinner and drinks. No wonder it's half empty on a Friday night with rather uninspiring food, wrong orders yet again, and an annoyingly patronising waiter.
