Village pub

One of the pubs in the village has been hit by the severe frost killing off its welcoming palm trees. Not sure they will recover but time will tell. Its thatched roof has also succumbed to the winter storms hence the tarpaulin. A further economic storm is howling through the hospitality sector in the U.K. with energy costs, staff shortages and cost of living crisis all impacting negatively on pubs’ balance sheets.

In two weeks the local economy here will receive a massive financial boost when the racing world descends on Cheltenham for The Festival. Hopefully this injection of cash will enable this pub to afford a new thatch and maybe some new palms too?
