No Trespassers

Sunday 12th

Unfortunately the weather hasn't improved and we woke to a rather rainy morning.
We therefore had a leisurely breakfast hoping that there may be a break in the weather.
By 10am the weather wasn't showing any signs of improving so we decided to get in the car and head round to Tighnabruaich to get a Sunday paper.
We then parked the car in the car park and read the paper in the car whilst enjoying the lovely views down the Kyles of Bute towards Arran and if the weather was better the Holy Isle too.
Later we drove round to Coach House Square and had our lunch.
The photo is of one of the gate posts on the Ardlamont Estate.
They make lovely pies and sausage rolls on the premises there so we decided to indulge ourselves.
We came back to the cottage to watch the Grand Prix as the weather was still rather wet.
After the Grand Prix we decided to head for the old Gunpowder Works at Millhouse.
Very little remains of these works but a monument has been erected to the men who died at the works and also those who perished on the works boat, which was aptly named Guy Fawkes.
This monument incorporates the former works bell and the little cannon which was used to test the strength of the gunpowder.
We then made our way back to Ardlamont to have our dinner and stay in to watch TV as the weather still remains rather wet.
Here's hoping the weather is better tomorrow.
