Dreary Wednesday
We woke to a covering of snow and miserable, damp cold. P saw hare tracks on his morning walk - it's good to know that some of the hares are still frequenting their usual haunts, as he's not seen them for a while. By lunchtime most of the snow had melted, and it was just wet and cold. I didn't go out. I was with J for much of the day, as her PA is away dealing with a family emergency, and when it's chilly she just wants to stay in her bedroom, which is the best insulated and warmest room in the house.
The theme for J's online Art Talk this week was Desert Island artworks - an opportunity to talk about a favourite work and explain why it's special to you. J chose Van Gogh's Starry Night and a Matisse papercut, I joined in with a Klee, and others talked about Rothko, Vermeer and Barbara Hepworth. It was nice to hear other people's enthusiasm and the stories behind their choices, and a chance for me to catch up with people I haven't seen for a long time.
