Rain. Maybe not quite as bad as they predicted for this area. Different story in the mountains. 

Today is the birthday of Clara Rockmore, the Russian violin virtuoso whose musical talent contributed to the recognition of the theremin as a serious orchestral instrument.  Hear her play The Swan, and wonder where those instruments are today. There was a local guy around here a few years ago who used to play one on the street downtown. I got to try it for a minute or two and found out how easy it was to really hurt your ears.
