Lass O’Gowrie

Took mum out for lunch here in Errol. Well we got her here and she treated us! What else does a 92 year old do with her money? She has all she needs at this age and thankfully in a nice sheltered home where the heating is covered with the rent.

Good here is very nice and we had a lovely time. The three mothers and young babies were at the next table. I was intrigued by the feeding (they looked about 7 months old the three babies in the high chairs). One of them was given what looked like raw broccoli florets and he did put it in his mouth but it was spat out quite quickly. So below the high chair there was a big pile of broccoli. The baby at the top of the table had a pile of raspberries and puffed rice on the floor. Then they got the stuff out of the tubes fed to them. I was impressed though that they all sat happily and no screaming to get out !

We had a good chat with the older waitress who works there one day a week and is a retired police officer, 30 years working in Kirkton in Dundee, mostly beat patrol . She also drives a school bus every morning to the Craigclowan public school in Perth. Retirement wasn’t for her!

Went out a walk later which gave me the chance to catch upon a good true crime podcast I was recommended. Great walking in the woods alone while hearing about a missing girl from 1996 presumably attacked by a man but body never found….
