Above Sprinkling Tarn

Defeated by the weather again. The forecast was for early sunshine with rain later. It rained later but the promised sunshine failed to materialise.

We were out on the fells with friends Jane and Adam who live in Keswick. They’re both very experienced, Adam has completed all the Munros and one round of all the Wainwrights. Jane had completed one round on her own and one with Adam. They are now on another round for their dog, Brody.

We were hoping to claim Allan Crags and maybe others too. By the time we arrived at the col at the top of the path from Seathwaite they decided not to continue any higher as there was no visibility. So we turned right and came down to Sprinking Tarn and then Styhead Tarn on the way back to the car at Seathwaite.

We did bag in Wainwright, Seathwaite Fell with a 2 mile out and back trudge from Sprinkling Tarn. Worth the effort for the views into the valley far below.

As has been customary at the end of walks with Adam and Jane pints and several bags of crisps were consumed at a pub - this time the Scafell Hotel which served some very tasty Great Corby brown ale.

The blip is of the very monochromatic view above Sprinkling Tarn. The extra is early on in the walk just after leaving Seathwaite. Thank you for the wonderful comments on yesterday’s blip of Langstrath. The hearts and stars were a surprise but very much appreciated.
